Force the Pass on course to rebound in Commonwealth Derby

Force the Pass (Speightstown), whose slow start compromised his chances as the
3-2 favorite in last month’s Secretariat (G1), will be a strong favorite to
rebound in the $400,000 Commonwealth Derby (G2) at Laurel on Saturday.

The Belmont Derby (G1) hero is the star attraction on a card that also
features the $250,000 Commonwealth Cup (G2) for older horses. Laurel inherited
the two graded stakes from Colonial Downs, where they were run as the Virginia
Derby and Colonial Turf Cup when last run in 2013.
