Unbeaten 3-year-olds Mohaymen and Nyquist top individual interests at 8-1 and
12-1, respectively, but
“all others” is expected to be a heavy favorite in Pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby
Future Wager this weekend. Oddsmaker Mike Battaglia listed the mutuel field as the 4-5
choice on the morning line for pool 2, which gets underway Thursday at noon (EST)
and runs through Sunday at 6 p.m.
Lady Sabelia will attempt to join elite company when she makes a title
defense in Saturday’s Barbara Fritchie H. (G2) at Laurel. The six-year-old mare
will likely be a solid favorite over six rivals in the seven-furlong race.
A couple of California-based three-year-olds,
Laoban and Bistraya, have been added to the list of probables for the
February 20 TwinSpires.com Risen Star (G2) at Fair Grounds.
Former Canadian champion and Grade 2 winner
Leigh Court snapped a four-race losing streak Tuesday in the $60,000 Mardi
Gras at Fair Grounds.
