Gulfstream Park plays host to the only graded contest for the upcoming weekend, with the Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3) attracting a field of 11 to sprint seven furlongs on Saturday. Aqueduct will also draw attention with the 113th running of the Queens County Stakes on the same day. Name Changer carries the top weight of 126 pounds in that nine-furlong contest worth $125,000.
December 22 is also Santa Super Saturday at Fair Grounds, with six stakes on tap including the $75,000 Sugar Bowl Stakes for two-year-olds and $75,000 Letellier Memorial for juvenile fillies.
On Sunday the focus returns to Aqueduct, with six runners lining up to sprint three-quarters in the 60th edition of the $100,000 Gravesend Stakes, including 125-pound highweight Life in Shambles.
Santa Anita Park kicks off its 82nd winter meet on December 26, carding four graded events highlighted by the $300,000 Malibu Stakes (G1) for sophomores and $300,000 La Brea Stakes (G1) for three-year-old fillies.
