A slew of runners over Kentucky Derby weekend earned triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings in stakes…but not the eventual Derby winner himself.
Country House was elevated to first via the disqualification of Maximum Security, who earned a 99 figure for crossing under the wire 1 3/4 lengths in front of Country House.
Leading the list of top BRIS Speed rating earners was McKinzie, who took home a career-tying 112 figure for his 4 3/4-length score in the Alysheba Stakes (G2) on Kentucky Oaks Day.
Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine Serengeti Empress was awarded a 101 rating, her first triple-digit Speed figure, following a gate-to-wire victory in the Run for the Lilies on May 3.
Also of note is Mitole, conqueror of the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) and earner of a 108 BRIS Speed number for that sixth straight win.
