Last updated: 5/26/14 8:02 PM

Miss Dejavu became the first starter and winner for her sire, multiple Grade
2 hero Tizdejavu, when upsetting Monday’s
2ND
race at Gulfstream Park. Ignored at 22-1 with Shannon Uske, the Randi Persaud
juvenile stormed to the fore on the far turn and defeated 1-5 favorite Knox
County Zip by 1 3/4 lengths. Miss Dejavu took :53 1/5 to complete 4 1/2 furlongs
on the fast track.

Bred by Two Hearts Farm and Greg Fox in Kentucky, Miss Dejavu is out of the
Miswaki mare My Leisha. She went for $5,000 as a Keeneland September yearling.
Current owners Reyana and Reya Racing entered her for a $35,000 tag here, but
got to keep her following the victory.

Tizdejavu, by Tiznow, excelled on turf. The winner of the 2008 American Turf,
Jefferson Cup and American Derby in succession, he ended his sophomore campaign
with a third in the Secretariat. As a five-year-old, Tizdejavu capped his career
with another three-race winning streak including the Opening Verse and
Firecracker. He earned $693,153 from a record of 16-8-3-2.

The nine-year-old stallion was produced by the winning Remember When, a full
sister to Grade 3 hero Polished Brass, by Dixie Brass. He hails from the family
of multiple Group 1 star Terre a Terre and Grade 1 scorer Birdonthewire.

Tizdejavu stands at Crestwood Farm near Lexington, Kentucky, for $5,000,
stands and nurses.
