NYRA canceled live racing at Aqueduct Wednesday due to unsafe conditions. It
marks the ninth time in the last 25 racing days that the Jamaica, New York track has
been forced to abandon its program.
Officials cited rising temperatures, which followed Monday’s snowfall and
freezing rain, for releasing moisture that caused the track surface to be “muddy
and inconsistent.”
Live racing is scheduled to resume Thursday.
