Brereton C. Jones and Timothy C. Thornton’s Include Betty (Include) subdued
Achiever’s Legacy (City Zip) and just held off the late run of Oceanwave
(Harlan’s Holiday) to take Saturday’s $400,000
Fantasy
S. (G3)
at Oaklawn Park.

The Tom Proctor-trained chestnut miss joined the Kentucky Oaks (G1)
leaderboard with 100 points toward a starting berth in that May 1 contest at
Churchill Downs.

Sent off at 18-1, Include Betty bided her time in last under jockey Rosemary
Homeister Jr. as Sarah Sis (Sharp Humor) set the opening quarter in :23 3/5. The
front-running Super Saks (Sky Mesa) found herself in second and gunned it to
overtake Sarah Sis and grab command. Super Saks proceeded through the half-mile
in :47 4/5 and three-quarters in 1:13 with Lady Tapit (Tapit) flanking her on
the outside. Sarah Sis, the 7-2 second choice, tracked just behind those two
down on the rail with Sweet Opportunity (Distorted Humor) keeping her company.

Meanwhile, Include Betty and fellow late runner Achiever’s Legacy were
beginning their moves while very wide. Include Betty hit the stretch eight wide,
with Achiever’s Legacy just to her inside, and the duo quickly moved to the
front to battle it out. The eventual winner kept coming in on Achiever’s Lgeacy,
bumping her a couple times as the pair drifted closer to the rail, but managed
to get in front just as Oceanwave came powering down the center of the track
after disentangling herself from traffic to take second by a neck over
Achiever’s Legacy. Include Betty finished 1 1/16 miles on the fast dirt in 1:44.

Oceanwave’s rider, Ramon Vazquez, claimed interference in the stretch and
lodged an objection with stewards against Include Betty, but the result was
allowed to stand. Oceanwave, who was second to Sarah Sis in the Honeybee S. (G3)
last out, still earned 40 more points for a Kentucky Oaks berth, while
Achiever’s Legacy added 20 to bring her total to 27. Pangburn (Congrats)
finished fourth and garnered 10 points to boast 24 points.

Include Betty returned to the main track in the Fantasy after rallying for a
decent fifth in the grassy Florida Oaks (G3) on March 7 at Tampa Bay Downs. The
three-year-old lass captured that track’s Suncoast S. prior to the Florida Oaks
after breaking her maiden in her fourth career try. She’s banked $303,030 to go
along with a 3-1-1 mark from seven lifetime starts.

Bred by Jones and Lavin Bloodstock, Include Betty brought $42,000 as a
Keeneland September yearling. She is out of the winning Betty’s Solutions (Eltish)
and counts as half-siblings Grade 1 runner-up Blonde Fog (Divine Park) and
listed-placed Francesca d’Gorgio (Proud Citizen), the latter of whom has
produced Group 1-placed listed winner Amazonas (Cape Cross).

Betty’s Solutions is herself out of dual Grade 3 winner Betty Lobelia
(Assert) and a half-sister to the dam of Grade 1 queen My Trusty Cat (Tale of
the Cat). This female line includes another 2015 Oaks contender in multiple
Grade 2-placed Eskenformoney (Eskendereya) as well as Grade 1 scorer Personal
Hope (Storm Bird) and the Grade 2-winning mother-son duo of Crowned (Chief’s
Crown) and Best of Luck (Broad Brush).
