One of the most anticipated days of the summer season,
Father’s Day, will be celebrated at Monmouth Park on Sunday with a whole
host of activities and giveaways to entertain Dads and the whole family.

All Dads will receive free Grandstand
admission. In addition, all fathers and those paying admission will receive an
entry blank to win tickets to local sporting events, including baseball,
football, basketball and a package for Monmouth Park’s signature event, the $1
million Haskell Invitational (G1) on August 2. Entries can be brought to either
of the two Welcome Centers, located at the finish line or in the Picnic Area,
before the 5TH race. Winners must pick up tickets by July 24.

The Turf Club will offer a special Father’s Day Brunch. The
cost is $52 for adults with half price for children under 12-years-old. To make
reservations, call 732-229-2100. Also on tap, a brand new Father’s Day Beer Garden will be
located on the north end of the grandstand.

Gates open Sunday at 11:30 a.m. (EDT) with a first post
12:50 p.m. The feature race of the day is the $150,000
Pegasus
S. (G3)
, showcasing eight sophomores going 1 1/16 miles on the main track.

Maryland-based Bodhisattva (Student Council) will be looking to get back on
the winning track after finishing last-of-eight in the Preakness S. (G1) at
Pimlico last out on May 16. The Jose Corrales trainee was second in the Private
Terms S. before posting a 1 1/2-length victory in the Federico Tesio S. on April
18.

Trevor McCarthy was aboard for both those starts and the Preakness, and
retains the mount on Sunday.

Among those lining up against Bodhisattva are Dontbetwithbruno (Tiz
Wonderful), Mr. Jordan (Kantharos) and Tekton (Bernardini).

Dontbetwithbruno is seeking his first stakes score having run sixth while
making his black-type bow in the Gotham S. (G3) and third in the Parx Derby last
out on May 2. The Todd Pletcher pupil will have Elvis Trujillo in the irons.

Mr. Jordan took his maiden debut by 6 1/4 lengths last September at Monmouth
and has faced nothing but stakes rivals since. The gray colt posted back-to-back
wins in the Smooth Air S. and Juvenile Sprint S. at Gulfstream Park West before
opening his sophomore season with a runner-up effort in the Tamarac S. at
Gulfstream Park proper. The Ed Plesa Jr. charge gutted out a head win in the
April 25 Tarpon S. last out at that same venue, but was disqualified to second.
Paco Lopez has the call.

Tekton didn’t do much over the winter at Oaklawn Park and trainer Tony Dutrow
gave the bay colt a couple months before bringing him back to romp by 10 lengths
against allowance/optional claiming company on May 21 at Pimlico. Alex Cintron
was holding the reins that day and will be back in the irons as Tekton faces
stakes rivals for the first time.

One race before the Pegasus, an overflow field of 14 will line up in the
$60,000
Dan Horn H.
going a mile on the turf course.
