Grade 1 hero COURT VISION (Gulch) is the standout in the $250,000 Kelso H.
(G2) at Belmont on Sunday in his first start for trainer Richard Dutrow. The
talented four-year-old has been a bit of a letdown after such a promising
campaign at three, but the colt should appreciate the class relief in here even
if the distance might be shorter than his best. Ramon Dominguez has the call
aboard the Kentucky-bred, who should be rolling late.

YORKTOWN (Fr) (Red Ransom) put in a pair of decent performances at Monmouth
for Graham Motion and will tackle stakes foes for the first time since debuting
in the United States this spring. The bay colt was a solid performer overseas as a
sophomore and is coming into his own as of late, so we wouldn’t discount the
four-year-old under Jeremy Rose.

YIELD BOGEY (Langfuhr) was a fine third versus better over a soft course
in the Poker S. (G3) this spring and could be the one to catch turning for home
with a repeat of that showing. The gelded five-year-old would benefit greatly
from a surface with some give to it. We’ll watch the weather intently before
plunging on the Pat Kelly charge.

READY’S ECHO (More Than Ready) is winless in two stakes tries over the turf and is often
left with too much to do in the latter stages for Todd Pletcher. The
four-year-old finished a fine third in the Forego S. (G1) when making up a lot
of ground late, but his one-run closing style doesn’t fit this event with no
early speed.

LE GRAND CRU (Dynaformer) has just one third-place finish from four career
turf starts but could get a piece of this as the lone speed in this grass event.
The Allen Jerkens pupil lacks the credentials of his foes but should be a factor
for most of the race from a tactical standpoint. Jose Lezcano will break from
the rail aboard the speedster.
