TwinSpires.com’s ‘Day at the Races’ brings fans to the track
TwinSpires.com, the official online wagering service of Churchill Downs
Incorporated and the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1), is bringing
thousands of racing fans to U.S. racetracks to enjoy live racing through its
“Day at the Races” program for customers.
The promotion, which TwinSpires.com has conducted 20 times since March 2009
with several tracks around the country, invites TwinSpires.com account holders
to attend specially designated live racing events at participating racetracks.
TwinSpires.com partners with the host tracks to provide complimentary premium
seating, food and beverages, expert handicapping advice and race analysis —
including free Brisnet handicapping information — and special drawings and
giveaways for premium items, such as Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks tickets.
To date, TwinSpires.com has brought more than 5,000 customers and their
guests to the races. Tracks participating in the program include (in
alphabetical order) Arlington Park, Calder, Churchill Downs, Del Mar, Ellis
Park, Fair Grounds, Hollywood Park, Keeneland and Monmouth Park. TwinSpires.com
has also partnered with the Breeders’ Cup World Championships to bring players
to Breeders’ Cup events in 2009 and 2010. TwinSpires.com will host its 21st “Day
at the Races” event at Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington, on Saturday, July
30.
“Many of our customers enjoy the convenience of wagering through their
TwinSpires.com accounts any time and anywhere with their computers, tablet
devices and mobile phones,” TwinSpires.com Vice President of Marketing Jeremy
Clemons said. “We also know that one of the best ways to create life-long horse
racing fans is to get them to the track to personally experience the magic of
live horse racing. The TwinSpires.com ‘Day at the Races’ program offers the best
of both worlds, bringing avid racing fans to tracks in their region to fully
participate in the on-track experience. Our partner tracks have embraced this
program, and help our customers make the most of each visit.”
“We were very pleased when TwinSpires.com came to us with the idea of
bringing their local customers to the races,” Emerald Downs Marketing Director
Adrian Buchan said. “As an industry, we all need to do our part to keep our
customers engaged in the sport. And for horse racing fans, nothing beats a day
at the races. We’re pleased to know that TwinSpires.com truly values the live
racing experience and its importance in building and keeping an active fan
base.”
“Advance-deposit wagering companies serve an important role in our industry
by providing a valuable service to our customers and by engaging them to
participate in our sport both at the track and at home,” Keeneland President and
Chief Executive Officer Nick Nicholson said.
Keeneland was one of the first tracks to participate in the promotion and has
hosted TwinSpires.com players for a day at the races every April since the
program’s inception in 2009.
