The remainder of Saturday’s card at Fair Grounds Race Course was called off
after the 2ND race due to severe thunderstorms.
All wagers on individual canceled races will be refunded, as will multi-race
wagers beginning on canceled races. Any Pick 3 wagers beginning with the 1ST or
2ND races and the Early Pick 4 beginning with the 2ND race will be paid out to
live tickets.
The featured race on the day was supposed to be the $60,000 Grindstone S.
going about 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf. WILLCOX INN (Harlan’s Holiday), unraced
since finishing third in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G2), was
scheduled to make his three-year-old bow in the contest against eight rivals.
Racing resumes Sunday with a 10-race card beginning at 12:40 p.m. (CST). The
forecast for Sunday according to The Weather Channel’s weather.com calls for
partly cloudy skies with a high of 65 and only a slight chance of precipitation.
