Grade 3 winner BULLY BONES (Hesabull) will take on 10 rivals on Saturday when
she goes in the $250,000 Del Mar Debutante S. (G1) for juvenile fillies. The
David La Croix trainee broke her maiden in late April by a half-length at
Hollywood Park before taking a break over the summer. She returned in the
August 6 Sorrento S. (G3) to score by 1 1/2 lengths and will be stretching out
to seven furlongs for the first time in her two-race career. Rene Douglas has
the call.
INDIAN BREEZE (Indian Charlie) brought two career wins into the Sorrento,
but could do no better than eighth. She’ll try again here under Patrick
Valenzuela. RIVER’S PRAYER (Devon Lake) posted a five-length win in her maiden
debut before scoring in the Cinderella S. by 3 1/2 lengths at Hollywood Park.
She tried the Landaluce S. in her last one, but ran three parts of a length back
of Indian Breeze in second.
Other contenders in the Del Mar Debutante include Landaluce-third MYSTERY
GIRL (Stormy Atlantic) and Sorrento fourth DIPLOMAT LADY (Forestry), who will
run coupled.
