Barry Schwartz’s ATTILA’S STORM (Forest Wildcat) gamely persevered for a neck
score in Thursday’s $112,500 Fall Highweight H. at Aqueduct. Exiting a
fourth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1), the three-year-old showed
speed from the rail and established pressured
splits of :22, :44 4/5 and :56 4/5. Voodoo (Petionville) offered a strong
challenge in the final furlong, but Attila’s Storm dug in gamely to earn his
first stakes victory, completing six furlongs in 1:09 1/5 over the fast track.

Trained by Richard Schosberg, the bay colt paid $8, $4.30 and $3.20 as the
3-1 favorite and improved his overall mark to 9-4-1-1, with earnings of
$220,628. Voodoo, who went off as the 6-1 fifth choice, finished a neck better than
Super Fuse (Lite the Fuse), who closed from the back of the pack at 28-1. It was
another two lengths back to Sir Greeley (Mr. Greeley), and next under the wire
came Thunder Touch (Gulch), Redskin Warrior (Indian Charlie), Yankee Mon
(Maria’s Mon), Mr. Whitestone (Dance Brightly) and All Hail Stormy (Stormy
Atlantic). Introspect (In Case) and Byanosejoe (Cherokee Run) scratched.

Bred in Kentucky by Lajos Kengye, Attila’s Storm is out of the winning Sweet
Symmetry (Magesterial), who is also the dam of a weanling colt by Cat Thief.
