Selling late in the day as Lot No. 446, a colt by Strategic topped the second
and final session of the Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale at Oaklands. The October 23
foal, hailing from the draft of Basinghall Farm, agent, was purchased for
A$38,000 by Aquanita Racing. The colt is out of the Sir Tristram mare Briko, a
half to the dam of Golden Slipper (Aus-G1) winner Marauding (Sir Tristram).
During Tuesday’s session, 129 lots sold for A$1,082,500, an average of
A$8,391. A total of 65 horses failed to find homes for an RNA rate of 33.5
percent. Overall, 267 lots generated gross receipts of A$2,684,000 and an
average of A$10,052. The 133 lots passed in equated to a 33.3 percent RNA rate.
Last year, the two-day event grossed A$2,859,600, with the 272 sold averaging
A$10,513 and an RNA rate of 21.6 percent.

Australian Easter yearling sale.
