Dubleo proves generous to his
supporters

Scataurchio, Pletcher & Wetterman’s DUBLEO (Southern Halo)
tracked pacesetter Littlebitofzip (Littlebitlively) in second
through much of Saturday’s $100,000 Generous S. (G3) at Hollywood
Park before collaring his rival in deep stretch to win by three
parts of a length. Trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Corey
Nakatani, the juvenile colt covered a mile over the firm turf in
1:37 1/5 and paid $4.80, $3.40 and $3 as the 7-5 favorite.

Dubleo, winner of the Summer S. (Can-G2), Continental Mile S.
and Chenery S. beforehand, notched his first American graded
victory and improved his stellar turf mark to 4-1-0 from five
starts. Overall, he has earned $360,899 from a 9-6-1-1 record.

Littlebitofzip, who was off at 41-1 in the 12-horse affair,
held second by a nose over the fast-closing Sunny Sky (Fr) (Septieme
Ciel) and returned $18 and $9.40 while capping the $51.50 exacta
($1). French invader Sunny Sky gave back $5.80 as the 8-1 fourth
choice. The $1 trifecta totaled $495.30, and the 10-5-11-7
superfecta, with Chattahoochee War (War Chant) another three
lengths back in fourth, paid $4,482.20.

Forzeen (GB) (Forzando [GB]), Petrus (Silver Hawk), Veiled
Speed (Runaway Groom), Generalist (General Meeting), Vitruvian (Lemon
Drop Kid), Lucky Bid (Maria’s Mon), Quiet Money (Seattle Slew)
and Doctor Kananga (Ire) (Dr Fong) completed the order of finish.
Moth Ball (GB) (Royal Applause [GB]) was withdrawn.

Bred in Kentucky by Anzac LLC, Dubleo was purchased for $90,000
as a Fasig-Tipton July yearling and is out Secret Red (Secretariat).
He has an unnamed yearling half-sister by Storm Creek.
