Champali to stand at Glencrest

Multiple Grade 3 winner CHAMPALI (Glitterman) has been retired from racing
and will enter stud at Glencrest Farm near Midway, Kentucky.  The
four-year-old is currently being syndicated and will stand for a live foal fee of $7,500.

Champali won his first three starts at two, including the Iroquois S. (G3) at
Churchill Downs. He began his three-year-old season with three straight stakes
victories before finishing third in the 1 1/8-mile Lane’s End S. (G2). After
placing second in the Derby Trial S. (G3), he won the one-mile Northern Dancer
S. at Churchill.

This year, the speedster racked up three six-furlong stakes scores, led by
the $500,000 Smile Sprint H. (G3) at Calder, the $250,000 Phoenix Breeders’ Cup
S. (G3) at Keeneland and the $150,000 Aristides Breeders’ Cup H. (G3) at
Churchill. He finished seventh, beaten just 3 1/2 lengths, in the
Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1), and retires with a record of 22-11-2-4 and $1,073,794
in earnings for owner Lloyd Madison Farms and trainer Greg Foley.

“We have watched Champali for three years, and he always turns in a great
performance,” said David Greathouse, Glencrest’s spokesman. “We expect he will be very popular with
breeders.”

Champali is out of the winning Dixieland Band mare Radioactivity and is a
full brother to multiple stakes winner Drexel Monorail.
