Keeneland November is winding down

ORABELLA, an unraced three-year-old daughter of More Than Ready in
foal to Violence, sold to Hidden Brook, agent, for $62,000 to top Thursday’s
11th of 12 sessions of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
It was the third consecutive day in which gains were
realized in gross, average and median. The sale, which began November 2, will
conclude Friday.
On Thursday, Keeneland sold 175 horses for $1,754,500, up
64.06 percent from the 11th and final session of the 2014 auction when 162
horses brought $1,069,400. The average of $10,026 was 51.89 percent above last
year’s $6,601, and the median of $6,000 was 33.33 percent higher than $4,500
last year.
Cumulatively, Keeneland has sold 2,375 horses for
$217,740,000, a 5.75 percent gain from the gross of $205,899,500 for 2,512
horses sold during the entire sale last year. The average of $91,680 is 11.85
percent above last year’s $81,966, while the median of $34,000 dipped slightly
from last year’s $35,000.
Consigned by Three Chimneys Farm, agent for the complete
dispersal of Regis Farms, Orabella is out of the winning Trippi mare Hot Trip, a
full-sister to Grade 1 winner R Heat Lightning, and from the family of multiple
Grade 1 winner General Assembly.
Oak Lodge Bloodstock purchased the session’s second-highest
priced offering, EVERYTHING MATTERS, for $60,000. In foal to Animal Kingdom, the
five-year-old mare by Lemon Drop Kid out of Arbeka, by Mr. Greeley, was
consigned by Upson Downs Farm, agent.
The session’s top-priced weanling was an Astrology colt out
of the Saint Ballado mare Lively Ballad sold for $35,000 to Back to Work Stable.
Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigned the colt, who is from the family of
multiple Grade 1 winner High Yield.
