Tuscan Evening’s demotion to be appealed

Trainer John Murphy has announced that he will lodge an
appeal against the disqualification of Hubie de Burgh’s TUSCAN EVENING
(Oasis Dream [GB]) from second to fourth in Sunday’s Irish One Thousand Guineas
(Ire-G1) at The Curragh.
Beaten a
head by Halfway to Heaven (Pivotal) in the mile classic, she was placed behind the
eventual
fourth-place finisher Caribbean Sunset (Danehill Dancer) after being judged to have carried
that rival off a
true line in the closing stages.

“I thought it was grossly unfair and I think,
while they did make
contact, it definitely did not stop the other filly from her impulsion or the
jockey from riding
her,” he told PA Sport.

“The filly has come out of the race well. The (June 20) Coronation
S. (Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot is Plan A, and we are going to enter her for the (June 18) Jersey S.
(Eng-G3) as well.”
