The $150,000 Perryville S. (G3) at Keeneland attracted just seven on
Saturday, headlined by multiple Grade 2-placed WARRIOR’S REWARD
(Medaglia d’Oro from the Ian Wilkes shedrow. The bay colt is undoubtedly a
talent and cutting back to a shorter distance will almost surely aid the colt,
but his inexperience on synthetic ovals leads us in another direction.

Kentucky Cup Sprint S. (G3) ace EL BRUJO (Candy Ride [Arg]) has been first or
second in nine of his 12 all-weather engagements for Malcolm Pierce and gets the
nod in here. The multiple stakes hero made an eye-catching last-to-first move at
Turfway last out to top a solid group and is more than capable of the same
effort with a clear trip. Robby Albarado has the assignment.

Warrior’s Reward was a solid second in the Jim Dandy S. (G2) two prior and
could take to this oval, but to our knowledge the bay has never even trained
upon it. We will say this — if the Kentucky-bred shines here then he can become a
versatile weapon versus top company at various distances and venues.

We’ve always liked the hard-trying HIS GREATNESS (Honour and Glory), a close
fourth in the Kentucky Cup Sprint last out for Marco Salazar. The Grade 2-placed
bay is far from a win machine, finishing first only three of 13 occasions, but
he’s run three straight good ones on Polytrack and must be considered a live
exotics threat on this day.

The well-bred EVOLUTIONIST (El Prado [Ire]) was third over this oval as a
maiden and has developed into a better horse since then for conditioner Bill Mott,
so we won’t
discount his chances at a placing. The bay colt has run fairly well against
solid allowance foes on the lawn as of late, and if the form transfers to this
unique strip, then he could challenge for a share under Rajiv Maragh.

Grade 2 winner NOT FOR SILVER (Not for Love) is another in here who has yet
to race over a synthetic surface for Michael Trombetta, but the talented
sophomore has the right running style and enough ability to be used in this
endeavor. The one-run closer will have Jeremy Rose aboard.

KEECHI BULLET (Red Bullet) is a cut below the best in here and has never
tried Polytrack, so he’s hard to endorse. The Greg Sacco pupil will need
a career best to make an impact on this occasion.

Forward Pass S. star CONCHACER (Congaree) didn’t fire last out versus
allowance foes at Arlington and can’t be endorsed on this day.
