A field of seven will head to the gate in Saturday’s $100,000 Turnback the Alarm H. (G3) at Aqueduct. SHEBELONGSTOYOU (Belong to Me) comes off
a third-place outing in the Cotillion H. (G2), gaining the lead momentarily in
that one before weakening in the end. That effort came on the heels of a 14
3/4-length victory in the Without Feathers S. where the Kelly Breen trainee
earned a career-high 104 BRIS Speed rating. The chestnut sophomore can continue to
improve in this one beneath Joe Bravo and her early speed is a
benefit.
INDIAN VALE (A.P. Indy) exits a disappointing fifth in the Cotillion, beaten
9 1/4 lengths as the 2-5 favorite while recording her first loss in four
career starts. The Todd Pletcher-conditioned chestnut has been working solidly
since then and has a good late kick that can put her near the front of the
pack at the end of this event. John Velazquez rides.
PERSONAL LEGEND (Awesome Again) ran a good second to Shadow Cast (Smart
Strike) in the Personal Ensign S. (G1) two starts back. Although she hasn’t won since January,
the five-year-old mare doesn’t have any class concerns and wouldn’t be a surprise
in the winner’s circle for
trainer Bobby Frankel. Jockey Edgar Prado has started off the Aqueduct meet
well, winning with three of his first eight mounts with two seconds.
ASTI (Ire) (Sadler’s Wells) fared well in her first experience over the main track last out,
finishing first in the Athenia H., but that contest came over a muddy track. She
put in a late run to score there and could grab part here for conditioner
Allen Jerkens. Jorge Chavez rides.
SILENT SIREN (Quiet American) hasn’t done well in her last two, but ran up a
trio of second-place finishes versus allowance company in her three races prior
to those. Keep her in mind for the exotics. TAITTINGER ROSE (Menifee) exits a
close second in the Long Look S., but might not have what it takes to challenge here. WAIT IT
OUT (Swain [Ire]) is unplaced in two fast track attempts and we will go against
here.
