Reneesgotzip pocketed her fifth stakes victory and her career line now reads
15-8-4-2, $869,860. She’s placed in the last two editions of the Breeders’ Cup
Turf Sprint, finishing third in 2012, and has posted four runner-up efforts in
Grade 1 events.
Bred in Kentucky by John Liviakis, she’s out of the winning Distorted Humor
mare No Dress Code and initially sold for $3,500 as a 2010 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky
October yearling. The chestnut was purchased by her connections the following
year for $45,000 at the OBS April sale.
Reneesgotzip hails from the immediate female of multiple Grade 2-winning
millionaire Big Jag and her fourth maternal dam, Cascapedia, was the champion
handicap mare of 1977.

A Kentucky-bred son of Sharp Humor, Ankeny Hill is out of the stakes-winning
Sandpit mare Ashbecca. The dark bay raced for a claiming tag several times last
season and was making his second stakes attempt Wednesday, finishing fourth in
the Clocker’s Corner on Santa Anita’s turf earlier this season. With the $55,500
winner’s share, Ankeny Hill has now earned $208,307 from a 13-5-2-1 ledger.
Later on the program, Daddy D T broke his maiden by a half-length in the Oak
Tree Juvenile Turf.
The race was delayed when Increase got stuck under the gate, which was
eventually pulled back onto the main track in an effort to free the bay colt. He
was scratched due to the incident, as was Visitation and Kenji’s Thunder.
Once the race got underway, Daddy D T settled just past midpack under jockey
Corey Nakatani. The pair bided their time as Pioneerof the West and Dallas
Skyline duked it out on the front end through fractions of :23 1/5, :47 4/5 and
1:12. Daddy D T abandoned his inside spot and angled out wide to rally down the
lane, just taking command in the shadow of the wire to finish a mile on the firm
turf in 1:36 1/5.
The Scat Daddy ridgling paid $7.20 as the 5-2 second choice for earning his
first victory. Daddy D T was sixth, beaten 10 lengths, in his debut for trainer
John Sadler on August 9 on Del Mar’s Polytrack and now boasts $60,250 in career
earnings.
Campaigned by Hronis Racing LLC, Daddy D T was as $250,000 Keeneland
September yearling. He is out of the stakes-placed Awesome Again mare Issues,
making him a full brother to Grade 3-placed stakes winner Amarish, and his fifth
dam is Broodmare of the Year Smartaire.
