Saturday’s Turfway Park Fall Championship S. (G3) is a wide-open affair, but
we’re going to give a slight nod to the morning-line favorite, SENOR SWINGER (El
Prado [Ire]). The Bob Baffert trainee is primarily a turf horse, but he shows two bullet works over
the new Polytrack surface, which many grass horses like. Senor Swinger, a
four-time graded stakes winner, exits a pair of fifth-place finishes to
Leroidesanimaux (Brz) (Candy Stripes) and Kitten’s Joy (El Prado [Ire]). He is
arguably the classiest member of the field, and all
the speed present should set up his late run.

Cigar S. winner NKOSI REIGNS (Out of Place) likes to be in the mix early and
figures to get a ground-saving trip from the fence. He has not been off the board in five
starts this season and merits serious respect.

The D. Wayne Lukas-trained WITH DISTINCTION (Storm Cat) comes off a close
third-place effort in the 6 1/2-furlong Marfa S. over this surface and should be
forwardly placed here. He could get an inside stalking trip and factor for a
share.

PAGING (Twining), trained by the ever-dangerous Bernie Flint, exits a solid
two-turn victory over this surface. He is a solid closer who could add value to
the gimmicks at 12-1 on the morning line. MIGHTY MILITARY (Military) finished
close to Senor Swinger earlier this year and rates our sleeper. He is nicely
drawn near the inside and could factor if he takes to the surface for trainer
Bob Holthus.

The speedy OLD DEUTERONOMY (Storm Cat) and ARTEMUS SUNRISE (Tale of the Cat)
figure to vie for the early lead. Both could stick around for a small part, but
they must overcome their outside posts. Dr. Fager S. winner STORMY IMPACT (Major
Impact) ran poorly in the Cigar but has upset potential with a return to form.
He has the look of a live longshot.

Illinois-bred WIGGINS (Cartwright) comes off a distant seventh-place effort
in the Whitney H. (G1) for trainer Dale Romans. He is a useful sort but could be
overbet here. PRO PRADO (El Prado [Ire]), also trained by Holthus, is one for
nine this year and must work out a trip from the outside to threaten.

Flint-trained CHIPPEWA TRAIL (General Royal) projects an inside stalking
trip and adds blinkers. He could be used as a longshot for the gimmicks. MR.
KRISLEY (Mr. Greeley) owns one win in the last two years and will start from the
extreme outside. Pass.
