A field of 11 fillies and mares will head to the gate Sunday for the $150,000
Chilukki H. (G2) at Churchill Downs. BENDING STRINGS (American Chance) comes
into the one-mile event off a solid fourth against good company in the Spinster
S. (G1), but is listed as the 9-5 favorite for this one. We’ll try to find a
little more value and go with PROSPECTIVE SAINT (Saint Ballado).

A wire-to-wire winner of the Shocker T. H. last out, the Martin Wolfson
trainee has posted BRIS E2 ratings over the century mark in her past six
outings. The four-year-old led for most of the Endine H. (G3) two back before
tiring and crossing under the wire fifth to respectable rivals. Eddie Castro, who
earned victories in his last two rides on the dark bay filly, returns to the
saddle for this one.

Bending Strings came in fourth in both the Spinster and Ruffian H. (G1) in
her two starts for new trainer Wally Dollase. The four-year-old dark bay sped
five furlongs in a bullet :59 1/5 over Churchill’s main track on Tuesday and looks ready to
go here.

MISS FORTUNATE (Deputy Minister) exits a fifth in the Spinster and looks to
improve in this one. The five-year-old mare has good closing speed, which should
get her near the front of the pack in the end. The Bill Mott trainee has no
class concerns and should be used in the exotics under jockey Larry Melancon.

MY
RO (Dixieland Band) is perfect in three starts at the Louisville, Kentucky, track
and could fare well under hot trainer Dale Romans. SAVORTHETIME (Gilded Time) comes off a close third in the Thoroughbred Club
of America S. (G3). This six-year-old chestnut mare hasn’t missed the board in
nine starts since August of last year and has hit the board five times in six
Churchill starts. She should be used in the bottom of the gimmicks.

TAPPIN FOR
GOLD (Pleasant Tap) has won three of her last four since moving to the shedrow
of Brad Cox and could get up for part in this one. KRISTY BEETHOVEN (Kris S.) has good late speed, earning triple-digit BRIS
Late Pace figures in her last three outings, and could rate as an upset special
in this one at 50-1 on the morning line. PLUMLAKE LADY (Carson City) faces a
class check, but has been showing good form and could hit the bottom of the
gimmicks.

JOURNEY FEVER (Gold Fever) also has a late kick which could put her on the
board. TEMPUS FUGIT (Alphabet Soup) was eased in her last outing and we will bet
against here. The last victory BEAUTIFUL BETS (Alphabet Soup) posted came against
optional-claiming foes. We’ll let her beat us.
