The Pennsylvania-bred four-year-old is out of the stakes-placed Polish Numbers
mare Bloomy, who has also produced Group 3-placed multiple stakes winner Spring
of Fame, dual stakes-placed Slambino and listed-placed Leopolis. Bloomy is
herself a daughter of 1978 champion Late Bloomer and counts as half-siblings
Grade 1 scorer Ends Well and Grade 2 victor Fred Astaire, who finished third in
the 1986 Breeders’ Cup Mile.
Philly Ace’s third dam is 1985 Broodmare of the Year Dunce Cap II, whose
descendents include Grade 2 stars Johnny Appleseed, Del Mar Dennis and Forty
Niner Days as well as multiple Grade 3 veteran Late Act.
