Live Oak Plantation’s Souper Colossal took the field gate-to-wire for his
third win in a row in Sunday’s $101,000
Sapling Stakes for two-year-olds at
Monmouth Park as the even-money favorite.

“It’s been an unbelievable weekend,” Plesa said. “We knew this horse would
run well today. That was exactly what we were hoping for and he certainly showed
up today. We’ll talk it over with the owner and see where we’ll go from here,
but he sure showed that he’s a classy horse with a bright future.”

Souper Colossal broke his maiden in his racing debut here on June 7 and was
exiting his stakes bow in the Tyro Stakes at this venue in a race that was taken
off the turf on August 3. The bay colt grabbed $60,000 for his second stakes
victory to increase his career earnings to $117,000.

The son of War Front broke from the outside post and cut in front of
his competition, as jockey Paco Lopez angled him immediately to the rail. Souper
Colossal posted fractions of :23 2/5, :47 2/5 and 1:11 4/5 while cruising in the
stretch to a to a 5 1/2-length score.

Souper Colossal crossed the wire in 1:38 2/5 for the one mile test over the
fast main track.

Wild Zambezi came in second and was 1 3/4 lengths clear of Pride of Stride in
third. Tapitsphere, Chase Lane and Posse Dreamin rounded out the order of
finish. Dukin’ With Dale was scratched.

Bred in Kentucky by Moyglare Stud, Souper Colossal is out of the Kingmambo
mare Soaring Emotions. His third dam is French Group 1 winner Caerlina.

Souper Colossal sold as a weanling for $100,000 at the Keeneland November sale
and was resold for $350,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearlings
Sale.

In the companion race for two-year-old fillies, Laurie Plesa and Vincent
Rizzuto’s Concealedwithakiss stepped up off a 11-length maiden claiming win to
wire the $77,500
Sorority Stakes.

The Eddie Plesa Jr. pupil reeled off fractions of :22 1/5 and :45 1/5 on her
way to a two-length victory. Coco’s Wildcat, the 2-1 favorite, chased the
eventual winner all the way around the track, but could not make up any ground
and had to settle for runner-up.

Concealedwithakiss covered six-furlongs in 1:11 2/5 over the fast main track
with Angel Serpa up. Sent off as the 6-1 fifth choice, the gray paid $15.40 for
the victory and banked $45,000 to boost her bankroll to $57,540 from two starts.

“I know there was a lot of other speed in the race, but my filly showed me so
much last time,” Serpa said. “She showed so much speed going five furlongs and
today going six I knew as long as she broke well I’d let her run. She’s a really
good filly, really fast.”

Coco’s Wildcat took second by a neck over third-place finisher Comforter, who
was a head better than Let’s Parlay in fourth. Save Rock and Roll, Heavenly
Perfect and Perpetual Novena completed the order under the wire. Flamingo Dancer
was scratched.

Bred in Kentucky by River Glen Capital LLC and Meritage Racing LLC,
Concealedwithakiss is out of the Chief Seattle mare Bold Outlook. Her third dam
is Ring Me Up, who produced Grade 2 winner Call Me Up.

The daughter of Political Force sold for $5,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky
Fall Yearlings Sale before bringing $22,000 from his current connections at
the OBS June Two-Year-Olds & Horses of Racing Age Sale.
