On Tuesday morning, Delta Downs’ racing office received 13 pre-entries to
this year’s $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot, a Grade 3 race for two-year-olds
which will be renewed for the 12th time on November 22 and is part of the “Road
to the Kentucky Derby” series.

The Jackpot Day program will feature a special post time of 1:15 p.m. (CT)
and will include eight stakes races and more than $2.3 million in purse money.

Throughout its first 11 years, the Jackpot Day program has attracted top
trainers from coast to coast. This year will be no different as Hall of Famer D.
Wayne Lukas has pre-entered Mr. Z in the Delta Downs Jackpot and Take Charge
Brandi in the $400,000 Delta Downs Princess, a Grade 3 event for two-year-old
fillies on the undercard. Mr. Z finished second in the Breeders’ Futurity at
Keeneland before running fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita on
November 1. Take Charge Brandi, one of 17 pre-entered for the Princess, became a
millionaire with her victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on the same
day.

Other notable trainers who have pre-entered horses for the $1,000,000 Delta
Downs Jackpot include Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer, multiple Eclipse Award
winner Steve Asmussen, 2007 Delta Downs Jackpot-winning trainer Mark Casse, and
Breeders Cup Classic-winning conditioner Al Stall Jr.

Listed below are this year’s Delta Downs Jackpot pre-entrants in order of
career earnings (trainers in parenthesis):

Wake Up Nick (Leandro Mora)

Conquest Tsunami (Mark Casse)

Mr. Z (D. Wayne Lukas)

Golden Actor (Ignacio Roncancio)

Saratoga Heater (Al Stall Jr.)

Ocho Ocho Ocho (James M. Cassidy)

Red Button (Mark Glatt)

Dekabrist (Gennadi Dorochenko)

Far Right (Ron Moquett)

Big Big Easy (Steve Asmussen)

Prime Engine (Jerry Hollendorfer)

Final entries and post positions will be drawn on Tuesday, November 18. First
preference for the race will be given to Golden Actor, who won the Jean Lafitte
Stakes at Delta Downs on October 25. After that, preference will be given to
those horses that have finished first, second or third in a Grade 1 or Grade 2
race, then preference goes to those horses that have finished in the money in
any graded stakes. The final determinant to get into the field will be lifetime
earnings at the time of pre-entries closing. The Delta Downs Jackpot field is
limited to a maximum of 10 starters.

For the third consecutive year, the Delta Downs Jackpot will award points on
a 10-4-2-1 scale, toward a possible starting position in the first leg of the
2015 Triple Crown, as part of the “Road to the Kentucky Derby” series.
