Undefeated HIGH LIMIT (Maria’s Mon) will make his three-year-old bow in the
March 12 Louisiana Derby (G2), trainer Bobby Frankel reports. The bay colt,
who is a new addition in the Hall of Fame conditioner’s stable, captured his
first two career outings by a combined 18 1/2 lengths last October at Delaware
Park. He’ll face stakes rivals for the first time in the 1 1/16-mile Louisiana
Derby.
“He’s coming,” said Frankel, who will also be bringing Hal’s Hope H. (G3)
winner BADGE OF SILVER (Silver Deputy) for the New Orleans H. (G2). “He’s a nice
horse and he seems like he’s training well.”
High Limit has recorded six workouts so far at the Palm Meadows Training
Center in South Florida in preparation for his 2005 bow. Jockey Ramon Dominguez,
who has ridden High Limit in both career starts, will retain the mount.
Frankel saddled Peace Rules to victory in the 2003 Louisiana Derby.
