Robert L Beck’s MEGASCAPE (Cape Canaveral) took the lead soon
after the start and never looked back en route to a sharp 2 1/4-length
score in the $101,500 Valley Stream S. (G3) at Aqueduct on
Sunday. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the two-year-old filly broke
well and set splits of :22, :45 1/5 and :57 1/5 before completing
the six-furlong feature in 1:10 1/5. The
dark bay was ridden by John Velazquez and gave back $11.60, $3.40
and $2.10 at 9-2.

Alfonsina (Grand Slam), the 3-5 choice, closed well from off
the pace to gain place honors, worth $2.50 and $2.10 while
completing the $30.80 exacta. More Moonlight (More Than Ready)
got the show, good for $2.10 while rounding out the $57.50
trifecta at 3-1. Winsome (War Chant) was 5 3/4 lengths farther
back and trailed by Galatic Cat (Forest Wildcat), who was pulled
up prior to the finish.

Megascape moved her mark to 5-3-0-1 with earnings of $161,740.
The filly captured the Joseph A.Gimma S. for New York breds two
prior.

Bred in the Empire State by Sez Who Thoroughbreds, the winner
was purchased at the 2004 OBS Two-Year-Old In-Training Sale for
$80,000. She was produced from the winning Megaturn mare Bigger
Half, and has an unnamed yearling half-brother by Rizzi.
