A light weekend in terms of graded action is upon us, but Gulfstream Park and Fair Grounds more than make up for the slack with jam-packed days of stakes.
The Los Alamitos Futurity (G1) and Starlet Stakes (G1) are the final Road to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks points races of the year. They highlight Saturday’s card at Los Alamitos.
On Saturday, Gulfstream Park plays host to the Clasico Internacional del Caribe — an event featuring five stakes for horses based in Latin America and the Caribbean — for the second straight year, while Fair Grounds has seven stakes on tap as part of Louisiana Champions Day.
Woodbine takes center stage on Sunday with the Valedictory Stakes (Can-G3) and Ontario Lassie Stakes.
