To follow up on our earlier story detailing American Pharoah’s first named two-year-olds, it’s time for an update. As of this writing (February 22), 15 more of the Triple Crown champion’s juveniles have been named, bringing up his total in the Brisnet.com records to 49.
The initial group of 34 included Album, All American Gal, American Citizen, American Dream, Ameriel, Basquiat, Best Company, Cebolla, Clepat, Comeback, Don’t Tase Me Bro, Drapes, Egyptian Princess, Envied, Feeling Funny, Firey Torpedo, First Pharoah, Good Fortune, Grandexaltedruler, I’m American Made, Imperial Moment, Land of Maybe, Lashara, Mo American, Orontes, Our American Gal, Pharelli, Pharoah Cat, Pharoah Lady, Pista, Sweet Little Indy, Thankful, Under the Oaks, and Wish Way.
Wish Way has the distinction of being the first to record a public work, speeding a quarter in a bullet :23.80 over Turfway’s Polytrack on Friday. Bred by Wesley Ward, the chestnut is the first registered foal produced by champion Judy the Beauty, the 2014 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) heroine. Wish Way tied for the fastest of eight moves at the distance with another Ward juvenile filly, Kiawah Sunset.

ABUL HAUL: Bay colt (foaled April 28) was exported to Japan as a yearling. First foal from 2013 Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup (G1) winner Kitten’s Dumplings, a Kitten’s Joy mare who is a full sister to Grade 3 victor Granny’s Kitten and stakes scorer Granny Mc’s Kitten.
AMERICAN LASS: Chestnut filly (April 19) is out of 2008 Santa Anita Oaks (G1) winner Ariege, herself a daughter of Doneraile Court and Irish highweight/multiple Grade 1 star Kostroma.
A. P. PHAROAH: Bay colt (May 16), half-brother to Grade 1 winner and $2.9 million-earner Moreno, out of the unraced A.P. Indy mare Danceinthesunlight. Second dam is Canadian champion Dancethruthedawn, and third dam is the great Dance Smartly, a Hall of Famer in both the United States and Canada. Sold as a yearling at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October to Alistair Roden Bloodstock for $300,000.
BEACON OF TRUTH: Bay filly (January 28) is the first foal from the winning Awesome Again mare Awesome Elle, who is in turn a full sister to Grade 1 celebrities Spun Sugar and Daaher.
BERENICE: Bay filly (March 31) out of the winning Arch mare Burning Arch. Dam is herself a half-sister to stakes victress Cat’s Claw from the immediate family of $2.4 million-earning turf star Point of Entry and ill-fated multiple Grade 1 queen Pine Island. Sold at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $450,000 to Cromwell Bloodstock.
EMILY’S OASIS: Bay filly (January 31) is the first foal from the Speightstown mare Margate Gardens, who is herself a full sister to multiple Grade 3 hero Bridgetown and a half to stakes veterans Carnacks Choice and Clement Rock, from the family of 1991 Kentucky Derby (G1) victor Strike the Gold. Sold to Lothenbach Stables as a Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling for $325,000.
FREEDOM FORCE: Chestnut colt (March 17), half-brother to multiple Grade 1-winning millionaire Iotapa, out of Concinnous by El Corredor. Dam is also responsible for Grade 3-placed stakes scorer Saint Joan. Sold at Keeneland September for $600,000 to China Horse Club/Maverick Racing.
HARVEY’S LIL GOIL: Gray filly (May 4) out of the Tapit mare Gloria S, an unraced half-sister to 2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness (G1) champion I’ll Have Another.
HIMIKO: Bay filly (January 15), half-sister to 2012 Derby and Preakness runner-up Bodemeister, out of Grade 3-winning Storm Cat mare Untouched Talent. Dam has also produced multiple Grade 1-placed Fascinating. Sold as a Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November weanling to Narvick International for $1 million.
IMA PHAROAH: Dark bay colt (March 20), half-brother to multiple Grade 1-winning millionaire Mor Spirit, from the further family of champion Stellar Wind. Dam is the multiple stakes-winning, Grade 3-placed Ima Dixie Girl, by Dixie Union.
KING OF EGYPT: Bay colt (March 9), half-brother to Grade 3 scorers Ultra Brat and It’s Tea Time, out of the winning Storm Cat mare Prof. McGonagall.
MASANIVA: Dark bay filly (April 10) out of the Indian Charlie mare Fiji Moon, a winning half-sister to influential sire Malibu Moon from the immediate family of Temple City.
MISS CHEERYBLOSSOM: Dark bay filly (April 11) out of the Grade 2-winning Rock Hard Ten mare Capital Plan, a descendant of Hall of Famer Dahlia.
NOT PHAR NOW: Bay colt (April 26) out of the stakes-placed Kibosh, a Discreet Cat mare descending from Broodmare of the Year Courtly Dee. Led out unsold after bidding maxed out at $185,000, failing to reach his reserve price at Keeneland September.
SPEEDY VANESSA: Bay filly (April 9), half-sister to Grade 1 vixen Karlovy Vary, from further family of champion War Pass. Dam, the winning Pulpit mare The Right Pew, is also responsible for Grade 2-placed Rocket Legs.
