Top Weekly Brisnet Speed Ratings for Stakes March 5 – 11

A quintet of runners earned triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings last weekend, easily headed by Tom Fool Handicap (G3) hero Do Share.

The Mike Maker-trained son of Candy Ride was trying the Tom Fool for the second straight year, having finished second last season under the tutelage of trainer Linda Rice. This time around the bay gelding romped by 6 1/2 lengths under jockey Reylu Gutierrez and was awarded a 116 BRIS Speed figure for the dominating triumph at Aqueduct on March 9.

Aqueduct also saw the winners of two of its other three stakes on March 9, the Gotham Stakes (G3) and Stymie Stakes, breakthrough with triple-digit BRIS Speed numbers. Grade 2 victor Vino Rosso made his first start since last August’s Travers Stakes (G1) a winning one in the Stymie, earning a 104 Speed figure. Haikal garnered a 102 Speed rating, and earned points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, for his one-length score in the Gotham.

Grade 1-winning multi-millionaire Whitmore was awarded a 105 BRIS Speed rating for his third straight victory in the Hot Springs Stakes at Oaklawn Park on March 9, while Imprimis rounds out the list with a 101 BRIS Speed number, earned for a 3 1/4-length win in the Silks Run Stakes at Gulfstream Park on the same day.
