Here are the winners of the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course since 1996 with related Brisnet.com proprietary data for each year.
Arrogate sticks out, of course, as his 2016 victory was not only the best Travers but also the fastest race in the history of Brisnet.com’s Speed Ratings, which began in 1990.
The race in general has produced some solid figures, though, as the past 21 editions have all had a winner earn a triple digit Brisnet Speed Rating with 7 eclipsing the 110 barrier (there have been 24 winners in the past 23 years because of a dead heat between Alpha and Golden Ticket in 2012). Indeed, Travers winners make up 25% of the three-year-olds who have registered at least a 110 Brisnet Speed Rating when winning a Grade 1 race.
The 2019 Travers draws on Tuesday night, and full-card past performances will be available on Wednesday. For all Saratoga Race Course handicapping reports, CLICK HERE.
