Champion and Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) queen OUIJA BOARD (GB)
(Cape Cross [Ire]) has suffered a minor setback which has delayed her return to
the track, it was announced on Sunday.
Last year’s dual English Oaks (Eng-G1) and Irish Oaks (Ire-G1) victress
winner had been training for a tilt at the June 3 Coronation Cup (Eng-G1) at
Epsom, but after throwing a splint connections have changed direction.
“She just threw a splint on her left fore, but it’s nothing serious and she
never took a lame step,” trainer Ed Dunlop said. “She’s back cantering now and
fingers crossed, we’ll start her off shortly but the Coronation Cup looks very
unlikely. She may go to Ireland for the (June 25) Pretty Polly S. ([Ire-G1] at
The Curragh), but we have other options at Royal Ascot at York and all steps
lead to America at the end of the season.”
