G. G. Ryder (Chhaya Dance) continued to reign over the top older horses at
Golden Gate Fields with a come-from-behind victory in Monday’s $100,315
All
American (G3)
over a mile on the Tapeta surface.

Tracking in fourth most of the way under Ricardo Gonzalez, G. G. Ryder
successfully closed into a :23 4/5, :47 4/5 and 1:11 3/5 pace set by 2-1
favorite Summer Hit (Bertrando) and drew off to win by 1 1/4 lengths in a time
of 1:36. As the 5-2 second choice in a field of eight, he paid $7.80.

Owned by trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and George Todaro, G. G. Ryder was
following up on his victory in the April 25 San Francisco Mile (G3), a grass
event he won by a half-length over Summer Hit.

Outside Nashville (Broken Vow), like G. G. Ryder and Summer Hit a
Hollendorfer trainee, rallied to be second, a half-length ahead of Pepper Crown
(Peppered Cat). Eagle Screams (Redattore) was a neck farther back and was
followed by Summer Hit, Blues Blaster (Redattore), Hypnatique (Scat Daddy), and
Beast of Bourbon (Kela). The mare Living the Life (Footstepsinthesand) was
scratched.

This was the third career stakes win for G. G. Ryder, who landed the $75,000
Alcatraz over the Golden Gate turf a year ago, as well as the aforementioned San
Francisco Mile. Following the Alcatraz, G. G. Ryder finished second in the
Berkeley H. (G3). G. G. Ryder’s record now stands at 19-10-3-1, $375,114.

Bred in California by Eagle Oak Ranch, G. G. Ryder was reared by Stormy Gigi
(Storm Boot), a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Force Freeze (Forest Camp), stakes
winner Barber (Storm Boot), Grade 2-placed Declan’s Fast Cat (Bluegrass Cat),
and stakes-placed Ice Legend (Bertrando). All were produced by stakes winner
Antifreeze (It’s Freezing).
