GIACOMO (Holy Bull), winner of the 2005 Kentucky Derby (G1), has been retired
and will enter stud at Adena Springs near Midway, Kentucky, for a live foal fee
of $12,500 in 2007.

Trained by John Shirreffs throughout his three-year career, the gray
colt ran second in the Hollywood Futurity (G1) as a two-year-old before opening
his sophomore season with a third in the Sham S. at Santa Anita. Following that
up with a second in the San Felipe S. (G2) and a close fourth in the Santa Anita
Derby (G1), Giacomo surprised at 50-1 in the Kentucky Derby, recording a
half-length victory. Third in the Preakness S. (G1) after his classic score, he
ended his three-year-old campaign with an off-the-board finish in the
Belmont S. (G1).

As a four-year-old this year, Giacomo captured the San Diego H. (G2) and
placed in the Strub S. (G2) and Goodwood Breeders’ Cup H. (G2). He made his
final career start a fourth in last Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at
Churchill Downs, and ends his racing career with a 16-3-2-5 mark and $2,537,316
in lifetime earnings.
