Trainer Todd Pletcher is including his package of stallion seasons for 2007
in the 17th annual Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) Stallion Season auction,
which will begin on November 27 and conclude with a live auction at the Keeneland
Entertainment Center on
December 1.
During the live auction, which will be conducted by Fasig-Tipton auctioneers,
seasons to such notable stallions as Bluegrass Cat, Mr. Greeley, Songandaprayer,
Unbridled’s Song and Vindication will be offered, among others.
The TCA will distribute the proceeds to approximately 150 organizations involved
with racehorse rescue and retraining, backstretch aid, equine research and other
worthy causes. Last year’s TCA event raised $1.9 million, with more than 93
cents of every dollar raised going directly to the charities.
“It is truly
gratifying to see a person of Todd Pletcher’s status focus on helping others in
the industry, both horses and people less fortunate,” TCA President Herb Moelis
said. “We hope others will follow his lead.”
