Coolmore announced Wednesday that 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah will shuttle to their Hunter Valley farm in Australia for the southern hemisphere breeding season later this year.
Currently standing his second season at Ashford Stud in Versailles, Kentucky, the 2015 Horse of the Year will stand for a fee of A$66,000 (including GST).
"We have been overwhelmed by interest from Australasian breeders in American Pharoah ever since he retired to stud in Kentucky," said Coolmore Australia's Tom Magnier in a release. "It's well recognized that he is a once-in-a-lifetime horse and the opportunity to bring him to Australia is an irresistible one."
