George Krikorian's HOLLYWOOD STORY (Wild Rush) made a sweeping four-wide run

on the turn and powered home to a one-length win in the $150,000

Bayakoa H.

(G2) at Hollywood Park on Sunday. Ridden by Victor Espinoza, the sophomore filly

was content in midpack through early fractions of :23 3/5 and :47 1/5 to the

half-mile, before commencing her best run. The dark bay completed the 1 1/16

miles on the fast track event in 1:41 and gave back $12.20, $5.60 and $3 at 5-1 for

trainer John Shirreffs.

Royally Chosen (In Excess [Ire]) turned for home with a slight lead but could

do no better than second, paying $5.80 and $3.40 while completing the $39.10

exacta ($1) at 9-2. A. P. Adventure (A.P. Indy), the 8-5 choice, was another

two lengths back in third. Show was good for $2.60 and the trifecta ($1) rewarded backers with a $140.80 payoff. Miss Loren (Arg) (Numerous) capped

off the $389.10 superfecta (8-5-1-7) ($1) and was trailed by Keys to the Heart (Wild

Again), Essence (Gulch) and Born To Dance (Service Stripe). Coconut Girl (Cryptoclearance)

was withdrawn.

Hollywood Story moved her mark to 12-2-3-3, with both wins coming at

Hollywood, while upping her earnings to $643,605. The filly broke her maiden in

the 2003 Hollywood Starlet S. (G1), and owns placings in the Del Mar Debutante

(G1), Las Virgenes S. (G1), American Invitational Oaks (G1), Hollywood Breeders' Cup Oaks

(G2) and Oak Leaf S. (G2).

The winner was bred in the Bluegrass State by Vinery, and purchased for

$130,000 at the 2002 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Yearling Sale. She was produced

from the stakes-placed Dynaformer mare Wife For Life, and has an unnamed yearling

half-brother by Cozzene and as well as a 2004 half-sister by Diesis (GB).
