Big Brown listed as 3-1 choice in final Derby Future

Pool

Unbeaten BIG BROWN (Boundary), a smashing five-length winner of last

Saturday's Florida Derby (G1), has been installed as the 3-1 favorite on track

handicapper Mike Battaglia's morning line for the third and final pool of

Churchill Downs' 2008 Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which opens its four-day run

on Thursday. The Richard Dutrow-trained Big Brown will train up to the May 3

Kentucky Derby (G1).

Louisiana Derby (G2) hero PYRO (Pulpit) is listed as the 4-1 early second

choice, and he's followed by champion WAR PASS (Cherokee Run) at 6-1. Pyro will

make his final prep in the April 12 Blue Grass S. (G1). War Pass is headed to

Saturday's Wood Memorial (G1). The co-fourth choices at 12-1 on the Kentucky

Derby Future Wager morning line, COLONEL JOHN (Tiznow) and EL GATO MALO (El

Corredor), will renew their rivalry in Saturday's Santa Anita Derby (G1). The

mutuel field, which includes all three-year-olds other than the 23 individual

horses in Pool 3, stands at 15-1.

Betting on Pool 3 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager will open at noon (EDT)

Thursday, and it closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday. More information and real time odds

on the Kentucky Derby Future Wager can be found on the official Kentucky Derby

134 website at www.kentuckyderby.com.
