Last seen posting a convincing 2 3/4-length score in the July 17 Virginia

Oaks (G3), CHECK THE LABEL (Stormin Fever) is the one to beat in Saturday's

$250,000

Garden

City S. (G1) at Belmont Park. The Graham Motion pupil tops a field of eight

three-year-old fillies and will bring a three-race graded win streak, as well as

regular rider Ramon Dominguez, into the 1 1/8-mile affair over the inner

turf.

An easy victress in the May 31 Sands Point S. (G2) over the course and distance,

Check the Label opened her current win skein in the one-mile Appalachian S. (G3) at

Keeneland. The dark bay was scheduled to start in the August 22 Lake Placid S.

(G3) at Saratoga, but scratched when the race was moved to the sloppy main

track.

"In hindsight, that was probably a blessing in disguise," Motion said of the

Lake Placid being taken off the turf. "Now she's had plenty of time between

starts, to point toward the nice races in the fall."

Check the Label is the 120-pound highweight in the Garden City.

Grade 1 winner NEGLIGEE (Northern Afleet), Riskaverse S. heroine QUEEN OF THE

CREEK (Theatrical [Ire]) and multiple Grade 3-placed TRIPLE CREAM (Tapit) will

look to knock off the probable favorite.

(EquiSport Photos)

Negligee captured the Alcibiades S. (G1) on Polytrack at two and finished a

close second when making her turf debut in the Edgewood S. two start back. The

John Terranova-trained filly came up short in third as the 2-1 favorite in the

Sands Point, but she's eligible to rebound with an improved showing off the

freshening. Rajiv Maragh will return to the saddle.

Queen of the Creek will enter on the upswing for conditioner Tom Proctor,

winning her last two starts over the Saratoga turf in wire-to-wire fashion.

Following a victory over allowance/optional claiming rivals, the bay lass rolled

to a convincing 3 1/2-length decision in the September 2 Riskaverse. She'll

stretch out from a mile with regular rider Julien Leparoux.

Triple Cream, who finished a close fourth in a pair of graded events in

California earlier this season, was transferred to Jimmy Toner this summer and

has placed in three straight black-type events, recording a third in the Boiling

Springs S. (G3) and a second in the Desert Vixen S., both over the Monmouth Park

turf, prior to a non-threatening third in the Lake Placid. The gray will receive

a rider switch to Alan Garcia.

"(Owner) Bobby Flay wanted to bring her East because there was more

opportunity for her," Toner said. "She's a sweet filly, does everything the

right way. She's been right there in all of her races, and we'd like to find

something to put her over the top. We had blinkers on her (in the Lake Placid),

but you'd have to throw that race out. We'll see what happens."

Proctor is also responsible for Riskaverse runner-up SNOW TOP MOUNTAIN

(Najran), who was awarded the victory in the July 3 Arlington Oaks (G3) due to a

post-race disqualification. Lake George S. (G2) third-placer NO EXPLAINING (Ire)

(Azamour) will invade from Canada for Roger Attfield, and trainer Dale Romans

will send out the intriguing PERSUADING (Broken Vow). A maiden scorer at

Churchill Downs in late May, Persuading defeated allowance rivals when making

her turf and two-turn debut at Saratoga last time and will make her stakes bow

Saturday.

Maiden winner GITCHEE GOOMIE (City Zip) rounds out the field.
