Juddmonte Farms' THREE VALLEYS (Diesis [GB]) settled just off the pace in the

early stages of Sunday's $338,000

Del Mar Breeders' Cup H. (G2) but rallied in

the final strides under jockey Pat Valenzuela to pick up the close win and stop

the clock in 1:32 1/5 for the one-mile firm turf event.

The four-year-old colt settled in sixth after a clean break while pacesetter

Wild Buddy (Line in the Sand) carved out fractions of :22 1/5, :45 and 1:08 2/5.

Three Valleys steadied in tight leaving the backstretch and came out three

deep entering the stretch. The Bobby Frankel trainee made his way down the front

stretch, getting up to the wire on the outside of a blanket

finish to win by a nose. That bob earned his ticket holders payouts of $3.80,

$3.20 and $2.60 as the 4-5 favorite.

We All Love Aleyna (Nines Wild) got through on the inside, and rallied to a

short lead in deep stretch, but was edged at the line for second, giving $5.60

and $5.80 at 8-1. Wild Buddy held on to third, which gave back $8.60 at 33-1. The

$1 exotics returned $17.70 (exacta), $238.20 (trifecta) and $1,817.40 (2-5-3-6

superfecta). Siren Lure (Joyeux Danseur), Toasted (Hennessy), Geronimo (Chi)

(Gold Tribute), Just Wonder (GB) (Hernando [Fr]), Whilly (Ire) (Sri Pekan), Sam

Forli (Chi) (Sam M.) and Tsigane (Fr) (Anabaa) rounded out the order of finish.

Sleepless Joy (Joyeux Danseur), Cooperation (Halo's Image), Noble Masterpiece

(Regal Classic) and Masterpiece (Arg) (Southern Halo) were scratched from the

race.

Three Valleys was bred in Kentucky by his owners and is out of the

stakes-placed mare Skiable (Ire) (Niniski), making him a full brother to a 2005

colt. This was Three Valley's third start in the United States

and his second win in a row. To date he has compiled a record of 10-4-2-2,

including a win in the Coventry S. (Eng-G3) as well as placings in the Citation

H. (G1), Dewhurst S. (Eng-G1) and Phoenix S. (Ire-G1). He has now earned $509,338.
