Ferguson resigns post at Godolphin
)
Joe Osborne, the current Managing Director of Godolphin in Ireland, has taken up the position of Interim Chief Executive of Godolphin's global operation following the resignation Tuesday of John Ferguson as Chief Executive and Racing Manager.
Ferguson's resignation comes after recent media reports in Britain revealed a broken professional relationship between Ferguson and Saeed bin Suroor, the long-serving Godolphin trainer.
"Given the recent articles in the media, it was clear my position was untenable," Ferguson said in a statement.
"In times such as these, what matters is the future, and my stepping down will allow everyone to draw a line under things and move forward. This course of action is best for everyone."
Ferguson had served Sheikh Mohammed's global breeding and racing empire in various capacities for a quarter-century.
