After toying with the idea of training up to the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1), Todd Pletcher will unleash Nest in Sunday’s Beldame (G2) at Aqueduct.

Six graded stakes highlight a dynamite 12-race program Saturday at Kentucky Downs on Saturday. The $1 million Kentucky Turf Cup (G2) and $750,000 Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf (G3) were originally scheduled, and the $1 million Mint Million (G3) has been brought back after being canceled due to adverse weather conditions at the all-turf venue last Saturday.

Godolphin’s homebred Santin, who broke through with his first stakes win in the Turf Classic (G1) on Kentucky Derby Day, followed up over the same Churchill Downs course and distance in Saturday’s Arlington Million (G1).

Jockey Julien Leparoux scored his 1,000th Churchill Downs win on Stephen Foster Preview Day, with a well-judged ride aboard Walkathon in the Regret (G3). Later, comebacker Admission Office rolled late to deny Get Smokin in the Arlington (G3).

Favorites were overturned in all three stakes at Del Mar Saturday, with the biggest upset furnished by the 10.90-1 Beyond Brilliant in the $404,500 Hollywood Derby (G1).

Speed reigned supreme in two of the three turf stakes at Churchill Downs on Saturday, making Set Piece’s last-to-first victory in the $300,000 Wise Dan S. (G2) all the more commendable.

One week after his master class aboard Medina Spirit in the Kentucky Derby (G1), Hall of Fame rider John Velazquez engineered another frontrunning upset. This time, Velazquez showed his turf skills with 8-1 Channel Cat in Saturday’s Man o’ War S. (G1) at Belmont Park.

The rising turf star Hit the Road will do just that when he makes his first start outside his Southern California base in Friday's $300,000 Maker's Mark Mile (G1) at Keeneland.

The third running of the Pegasus promises to feature a few up-and-comers in the division, judging by the invitations released by Gulfstream Park.
