Seven sprinters will contest Saturday's 26th running of the $250,000 Forego

S. (G1). FOREST DANGER (Forestry) opened this season with an impressive 9 1/2-length triumph over optional

claiming/allowance rivals at Gulfstream Park in February and then easily

captured the seven-furlong Carter H. (G1) in April, earning massive 114 BRIS

Speed ratings for both efforts. The four-year-old suffered only his second

career setback when finishing fifth in the Met Mile (G1) last out and has been

freshened since that start in late May by trainer Todd Pletcher.

Forest Danger has worked very well in the mornings for his Saratoga bow and

should be up close tracking the pace from the start before pouncing. Seven

furlongs is his best distance (three for three) and Forest Danger looks too

dangerous to go against in this spot.

SILVER WAGON (Wagon Limit) is two for two at the Spa, including a win in the

2003 Hopeful S. (G1), and will be running late on Saturday under Cornelio

Velasquez. Trained by Ralph Ziadie, the gray colt hasn't started since finishing

an encouraging second to Ghostzapper in the Met Mile, but he's run well off the

layoff before and owns strong triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings from all four

starts in 2005. There's some speed up front and Silver Wagon is a threat to find

his best form over his favorite track. We'll include him in multi-race wagers.

KEEP THE FAITH (Aus) (Sunday Silence) established a new course record at

Belmont Park when sizzling six grassy furlongs in 1:06 4/5 in his U.S. bow on

July 24, and the Godolphin runner has been training well in preparation for his

dirt debut. A stakes winner in his native Australia, the five-year-old horse may

continue to show much more stateside. Jockey Gary Stevens picks up the mount and

should have him in position to challenge when the field reaches the top of the

stretch. Keep the Faith looms as a dangerous longshot.

MASS MEDIA (Touch Gold) will be running late under Javier Castellano and

merits serious consideration for the bottom of all exotics. The Bobby Frankel

trainee hasn't accomplished much this season, but he turned in an encouraging

prep for this race when finishing a close third in a turf race last out and may

continue to show more here. Mass Media should definitely have a favorable pace

scenario up front, and we wouldn't be surprised to see a strong late showing

from the four-year-old.

BATTLE WON (Honour and Glory) has thrived this summer for conditioner Charles

Simon, winning the Churchill Downs H. (G2) and finishing second in both the Bing

Crosby H. (G1) and Aristides Breeders' Cup H. (G3), and he's trained well for

this appearance, turning four furlongs in a bullet :48 1/5 on Wednesday over the

Oklahoma Training Track. The classy five-year-old gelding should be in the mix

from the break, but seven furlongs doesn't look like his best distance. He

disappointed when finishing third as the favorite in his lone previous

appearance over Saratoga's main track, and we'll try to beat him.

YANKEE MON (Maria's Mon) will come out running for trainer Richard Dutrow and

owns respectable triple-digit Speed figures. The New York-bred owns a winning

attitude, having captured four of his last five outings, and could possibly hold

on for a small share. Yankee Mon will be severely tested for class in this

spot. SWINGFORTHEFENCES (Boston Harbor) was no factor in his last two starts and

may prefer a little more ground. The Richard Violette Jr. charge brings

commendable BRIS Speed and Pace numbers into this event, but he's far too

inconsistent and doesn't appear to be at the top of his game presently.
