Instagrand, ‘All Other Sires’ favored in Breeders’ Cup Future Wager pools

The second pair of three Breeders’ Cup Future Wager double pools closed on Sunday with Instagrand (#8) and the “All Other Sires” option attracting the most attention.

In the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) pool, Instagrand was bet down to 7-2 from his morning-line odds of 4-1. The bay colt was scheduled to run in Monday’s Del Mar Futurity (G1) but trainer Jerry Hollendorfer has re-routed the unbeaten Grade 2 winner to the American Pharoah Stakes (G1) (formerly the FrontRunner) at Santa Anita Park on September 29.

Impressive maiden winner Roadster (#13), who is one of seven entered in the Del Mar Futurity, saw his 6-1 morning-line odds remain the same when the pool closed. The “All Other Juveniles” (#24) option was the only other betting interest to close at single-digit odds in the Juvenile pool, falling from a 30-1 morning line to 8-1.

In the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sires pool, Into Mischief (#6) and Quality Road (#12) closed at 9-2 and 8-1, respectively. The former is the sire of Instagrand while the latter fathered Roadster.

The “All Other Sires” (#24) wagering option in the Juvenile Sires pool closed as the 4-1 favorite, showing no change from the listed morning line.

The final Breeders’ Cup Future Wager pair of pools will cover the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1), from October 5 through October 7.
