Cheveley Park Farm's FUNFAIR (GB) (Singspiel [Ire]) was able to keep his U.S.

record unblemished from three starts on Sunday when the six-year-old dug in

determinedly on the rail in the final strides of the $334,200

Kelso Breeders'

Cup H. (G2) to pull off a narrow victory in the one-mile firm turf affair. Keep the

Faith (Aus) (Sunday Silence), who led the

majority of the contest through fractions of :22 4/5, :45 and 1:08 2/5,

relinquished that advantage in the end to Funfair and jockey Edgar Prado, who

finished the race in 1:32 4/5.

"I felt very good when he got down on the rail," said trainer Graham

Motion. "He really likes to be down inside. He's a very game horse. It was a

pretty good field he beat today. I have to go on to the Breeders' Cup with him.

I thought he would like this course."

Funfair left the gate at 13-1 and paid back $29.20, $8.10 and $6, leading

exotics of $73.50 (exacta), $454.50 (trifecta) and $4,623 (8-9-2-7 superfecta).

Artie Schiller (El Prado [Ire]), the post-time favorite at nearly 7-5, trailed

in second for the entirety of the trip and dug in gamely between rivals in the

stretch but was not able to improve his position, giving back $2.90 and $2.40

for the place. Keep the Faith fought to the wire and managed to garner show,

returning $4.20 for his efforts at 5-1. Not Phone (Arg) (Speakerphone) rounded

out the superfecta.

Limehouse (Grand Slam), Latino Magic (Ire) (Lion Cavern), Ecclesiastic

(Pulpit), Silver Tree (Hennessy), Willard Straight (Lion Cavern) and Ay Caramba

(Brz) (Roi Normand) completed the order of finish.

Bred in Britian, the six-year-old homebred is out of the Group-3 winning

mare Red Carnival (Mr. Prospector) and is a half-brother to multiple Group 3

winner Carnival Dancer (Sadler's Wells). Funfair exits a narrow victory in the

Troy S. and improves his record to 16-6-2-2 with earnings of $432,459.
