Last updated: 3/17/10 5:12 PM

While colts were in the highest demand at the first session of the Ocala

Breeders' Sales Company's Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, it was a

filly who topped proceedings at the second and final session of the auction in

Ocala, Florida, on Wednesday. A daughter of More Than Ready, from the

consignment of Jerry Bailey Sales Agency, agent, went to Steven W. Young, agent,

for $525,000 after touring the ring as Hip No. 190.

The Kentucky-bred, produced by the winning Meadow Silk (Meadowlake), is a

half-sister to Grade 2 winner Star Dabbler, stakes winner Run Production and multiple stakes-placed Bay Head King, who are all by Saint Ballado. Other

notables from this family are 2004 champion sprinter and sire Speightstown (Gone

West) and Grade 1 winners Turk Passer (Turkoman), Mani Bhavan (Storm Boot),

Cherokee Colony (Pleasant Colony) and Crusader Sword (Damascus).

The sale-topper recorded a one-furlong move in :10 1/5 at Sunday's Under Tack

show.

Two colts each brought $400,000 or more. Hip 323, a Giant's Causeway

three-quarter brother to Irish highweight Heart Shaped (Storm Cat) and

half-brother to Grade 1 winner A P Valentine (A.P. Indy), went for $425,000 to

Hidden Brook, agent for Paul Pompa Jr. He was offered from the consignment of

All In Sales (Tony Bowling), agent.

Produced from the winning Twenty Eight Carat (Alydar), the colt also counts

stakes winner Summer Bet (Summer Squall) as a half-sibling and the stakes-placed

Facchetti (Storm Cat) as a three-quarter brother. This is the family of Group 2

winner Radiohead (GB) (Johannesburg), a contender in Saturday's Florida Derby

(G1) at Gulfstream Park, as well as 1956 co-champion two-year-old filly Leallah

(*Nasrullah).

The Kentucky-bred turned in a one-furlong trial in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack

show and was previously a $220,000 Keeneland September yearling.

A son of Indian Charlie out of the stakes-winning Teak Totem (Northern Afleet)

brought $400,000 from Robert Sahn, Stanley Hough, agent. Offered by Eisaman

Equine, agent, the Florida-bred sported Hip 310. From the family of multiple

Grade 2 winner Wooden Phone (Pick Up the Phone), the juvenile was previously a

$75,000 Keeneland September yearling and posted a two-furlong move in :21 1/5 at

the Under Tack show.
