New Zealand Yearling Sales set to kick off

An international cast of buyers has once again descended on the Karaka sales

complex in advance of the New Zealand National Yearling Sales, which begins

Monday and continues through February 6.

There are yearlings who are sure to turn a few heads, including

Lot No. 341, a Stravinsky colt out of Grand Echezeaux (Zabeel), and Lot 461, a colt by

Zabeel out of Miss Power Bird (Mukaddamah) who is from the family of Lucky Owners,

a multiple Group 1 hero in Hong Kong, and Might and

Power, two-time Horse of the Year in Australia.

While perennial leading sire Danehill won't be represented this year, since

his final crop of yearlings sold last term, a strong cast of stallions will have

yearlings on offer, including Zabeel, Redoute's Choice, More Than Ready,

Montjeu (Ire), Stravinsky and Rock of Gibraltar (Ire).
