One week after stablemate Speak of the Devil wowed observers in the Churchill Distaff Turf Mile (G2), fellow Arqana purchase Rougir captured her debut for their connections in Saturday’s Beaugay (G3) at Belmont Park.

While Con Lima was uncatchable on the front end in the $700,000 Saratoga Oaks (G3), Regal Glory rallied to take the $120,000 De La Rose S.

Con Lima, who nearly wired the Belmont Oaks, renews rivalry with the respective third through fifth-placers while facing a few newcomers to the series.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained Santa Barbara brought Group 1 form into Saturday’s $700,000 Belmont Oaks (G1), but she didn’t get to flaunt it until deep stretch.

The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival opened Thursday with a trio of black-type events. While Con Lima rolled at 8.30-1 in the Wonder Again S. (G3), Change of Control went off at a much shorter 1.45-1 in the Intercontinental S. (G3), and Happy Soul aired as a prohibitive odds-on favorite in the Astoria S.
