Pure Sensation continued his domination of the turf course at Parx Racing on Saturday when he claimed the $210,000 Parx Dash (G3) for a third time.
Winner of the race in 2016 and 2017 but third last year in what was his only loss over the local lawn in seven attempts, the eight-year-old gray handled nine rivals and the soft conditions with aplomb, fending off challenges in upper stretch and extending his lead to 4 1/4 lengths at the wire under Paco Lopez.
A homebred racing for Patricia Generazio and trained by Christophe Clement, Purse Sensation paid $4.60 as the 13-10 favorite. The final time on the testing ground was 1:00.42. Rocket Heat finished second, 4 1/2 lengths clear of Smokin Nitro.
In addition, to the trio of Parx Dashes, Pure Sensation is also a three-time winner of the Turf Monster (G3) at Parx. Among his four other career stakes wins were the 2016 renewals of the Jaipur (G3) and Belmont Turf Sprint.
Bred in Florida, Pure Sensation is by Zensational and out of multiple stakes winner Pure Disco, by Disco Rico. He's bankrolled $1,773,550 from a line of 33-13-5-6.
